Trans Joy

Kieran (he/him), Chief Empowerment Officer at Trans Joy, navigates life with a blend of resilience, creativity, determination, and of course, joy. His journey is a testament to adaptability and the pursuit of passion amidst life's twists and turns.

Balancing work and education, Kieran earned a BA in Urban Studies from San Diego State University and an MBA from Penn State while managing teams and individuals throughout his 25-year career. Driven by a profound desire to see others thrive, his commitment to fostering success has sharpened his expertise in community engagement, strategic thinking, and leadership. From his early days navigating recreation as a parks and recreation employee, camp administrator, and outdoor educator, to his years as a leader in the corporate tech space, Kieran's dedication to empowering individuals has remained unwavering.

Kieran's professional journey has been marked by unexpected opportunities and bold transitions. Stumbling upon a tech job opportunity on Craigslist during the economic downturn of 2008 (this was far less sketchy than it now sounds!), Kieran thrived in the fast-paced world of technology, honing his skills and expertise, and leaning in to his passion for servant leadership. Speaking of bold transitions, Kieran finally began the important work of living proudly as his true self, socially and medically transitioning while working in the corporate space.

However, as he continued to explore his true passions and identity, he felt a calling to make a more meaningful impact. In 2023 following some other life changes, Kieran made the bold decision to pursue his dreams full-time. Co-founding Trans Joy with Adam and independantly launching his woodworking shop, Spalted Sparrow Studios, Kieran embraced his role as a champion of empowerment and celebration within the trans community.

Through Trans Joy, he empowers individuals to live authentically and joyfully, while Spalted Sparrow Studios serves as a creative sanctuary for his woodworking endeavors. Kieran loves being a part of something bigger than himself, something that has a positive impact on the individuals and community around him.
 

With a knack for community engagement, strategic thinking, and a passion for making a difference, Kieran is known as a joyful force to be reckoned with. He's not afraid to show up authentically, make space for others, or simply roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty, whether it's building something beautiful in the workshop or advocating for change in the community.
