Welcome to Trans Joy, a place where dedication and action meet to uplift the trans community.

Our story unfolds approximately a decade ago in a rented church space where we both played in a jazz band.  Since then, we have bonded over our shared love for music performance, soccer, wood working, flag football, and the similarities and differences of our experiences as trans men. In fact, our friendship is at the heart of why we started Trans Joy. We have learned the immense power that comes from being seen and seeing other trans people succeed in our own lives and we want to give our community a platform to celebrate that visibility. Together, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of trans individuals, driven by a mutual passion for community advocacy and positive change.

Our initiative stems from personal experiences and discussions within our community, particularly around coming out and the challenges in accessing necessary healthcare and support. Witnessing the struggles and resilience of ourselves, our friends and our community members, we understood the urgent need for dedicated support and resources.

Driven by the values of empathy, inclusivity, and empowerment, our mission is to offer accessible grants for gender affirming care. We strive to create a world where every trans individual can find the support they need, whether it be medical care, mental health support, or essential resources like clothing and makeup.
